TRIGGER2 V6.3
The TRIGGER2, which has been well received as a 2-loop switcher capable of switching between A and B with a single footswitch operation, has been significantly upgraded with enhanced functionality.
The new TRIGGER2 retains the selectable switching modes from the previous version while adding features such as LED display modes, MIDI control, and control via stereo cables, along with a high-visibility OLED display for clear status indication.
In addition to MIDI transmission, the unit now supports MIDI signal thru processing for signals received at MIDI IN.
External MIDI commands can also be used to control the loop states of the TRIGGER2. When a loop state is recalled, the corresponding MIDI messages and control terminal settings are triggered simultaneously, allowing the unit to be used in a wide variety of setups.
Switcher
- You can switch the effects connected to LOOP-A and LOOP-B on or bypass.
- Connect the INPUT of your effect to the SEND jack, and the OUTPUT to the RETURN jack of the TRIGGER2 (hereafter referred to as the unit).
- The internal signal routing order is LOOP-A → LOOP-B.
- Switching is performed using mechanical relays, and the unit uses a true bypass design that does not pass through any active circuitry.
PNS (Pop Noise Suppressor) ※NEW (V6.3 feature)
- Like many effects devices, switching between bypass states can sometimes produce a noise known as pop noise. The loudness of this noise varies depending on the connected equipment and circuit characteristics, but it typically occurs as a short “pop” or “click” during switching.
This unit includes the PNS (Pop Noise Suppressor) feature, which helps reduce such noise when enabled. - Pop noise can be caused by a combination of factors, such as sudden signal level changes, temporary open contacts during switching, and fluctuations in current consumption. Because of this, the PNS function cannot guarantee complete elimination of the noise in all situations. However, it can significantly reduce pop noise, especially when working with high-gain sound settings.
- PNS is enabled by default. If you are switching purely passive signals and the PNS function introduces a small pop noise instead, you can disable it.
Switching Modes
The unit allows you to select from the following three switching modes.
- INDIVIDUAL (displayed as INDIVID on the main screen)
This mode allows LOOP-A and LOOP-B to be turned on or bypassed independently. - A/B/OFF
Pressing a switch activates the corresponding loop while bypassing the other loop. This allows A/B switching to be completed with a single operation. Pressing the active switch again bypasses all loops. - A/B/A+B
The basic behavior is the same as A/B/OFF, but pressing the active switch again turns both loops on simultaneously.
LED Display Modes
- ON: BLUE / OFF: RED
Blue when the loop is active, red when bypassed. - ON: BLUE / OFF: OFF
Blue when active, off when bypassed. - ON: RED / OFF: OFF
Red when active, off when bypassed.
External Device Control via Control Jack
Devices connected to the control jack can be operated using either stereo or mono phone cables, allowing functions such as amplifier channel switching or turning effects on and off.
When using a stereo cable, both the TIP and RING circuits can be controlled independently. With a mono cable, only the TIP circuit can be controlled.
Control terminal settings can be stored as presets for each of the four loop states.
Controlling TRIGGER2 via MIDI
TRIGGER2 can be controlled from external devices by sending MIDI Program Change messages.
MIDI Transmission and Thru
MIDI transmission settings can be saved in the same way as control terminal settings. Presets are stored for each of the four loop states, allowing a maximum of four presets to be stored and recalled.
However, when using A/B/OFF or A/B/A+B modes, the number of available presets becomes three.
Each preset can contain up to eight sets of MIDI messages (MIDI-1 to MIDI-8), allowing control of up to eight external devices.
In addition, all MIDI signals received at MIDI IN (channels 1–16) are automatically passed through to MIDI OUT.
